Amanda with students of the Asuanse Agricultural Experimental School

Quest for Education: Peer Partners adopted the Asuanse Agricultural Experimental School in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District of the Central Region of Ghana, West Africa! It all started with a snap of a camera lens that captured the plight of the rural children of Ghana. That picture depicted the vulnerability of the youth of Ghana and the need for assistance from others. In addition to shipping the school hundreds of books and thousands of crayons, the funds we have raised so far were used to purchase school uniforms, sandals and educational supplies as well as a poly-tank that led to the prevention of skin diseases suffered by the children. On August 7, 2003, Amanda traveled to Ghana, by invitation of the Ghanaian Embassy. She was able to personally deliver more educational supplies and monies generously donated by the caring residents and merchants of Southern New Jersey. These children, for the first time, laid their eyes on a computer, printer, monitor, calculators, books, and other educational supplies. During that summer visit, Peer Partners also provided the seed money to begin a library project that will include a computer room, office space and seating capacity for 150 students. We continue to work hard to raise the balance of the funds needed to work toward completion of the library.

How You Can Help: Anyone interested in helping these children in their Quest for Education should send donations to Peer Partners. Please, before you make your next purchase think about donating to this extremely worthy cause! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at peerpartners@yahoo.com, or send queries and donations to 700 North Main Street, Pleasantville, NJ 08232.

Donations of $50 or more will be acknowledged with an engraved plaque that will be posted on the library when it is completed!
